The purpose of this presentation is twofold: first, to give a short review of Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) advantages when used for educational purposes, and second, to present the actions taken within the framework of the Greek School Network (GSN) to promote FLOSS awareness between educators, as well as school administrators and staff.

With the aim to fostering the use of FLOSS in the Greek educational society, the opensoft.sch.gr portal is developed within the framework of the Greek School Network (GSN).
