Jim Blandy graduated from Oberlin College in 1990, and has spent his career since then developing only free software.  Working for the Free Software Foundation, he released version 19 of GNU Emacs.  With Karl Fogel, he made the first public release of the network-transparent CVS work done at Cygnus Solutions; he is also one of the original designers of Subversion.  He has been a maintainer of GDB for eight years.  He currently works for Mozilla on SpiderMonkey, the Mozilla project's JavaScript interpreter.  Jim lives in the beautiful city of Portland in the Northwestern United States.
