Event description:
R is a GNU functional language and programming environment for statistical computing and graphics. It works on multiple computing platforms and is now in widespread use for teaching at many levels as well as for practical data analysis and methodological development. The current R is the result of a collaborative effort with contributions from all over the world, forcing it to become a de facto standard for statistical computing. Both the main language and environment can be extended via user-submitted packages that are available through the CRAN family of Internet sites and cover a very wide range of modern statistics.
This talk will present the most recent R development tools and demonstrate how R can be useful in practice. Finally, it will introduce the implementation steps of chicR, a statistical package for Multivariate Data Analysis.
