Governments and public agencies are under pressure to establish solutions for their digital infrastructure that allow digital sustainability for a long time, in some cases for up to 30 years. With the growing amount of purely digital documents, it has become impossible to rely on vendor-specific formats and solutions. With the rise of Open Standards like ODF(Open Document Format) a new ecosystem is growing that can solve these questions at a very low investment. This presentation will take you on a trip thorugh europe, where we visit some projects that are already working with this setup and other projects that are right now running to come to such a result. We will also see how this is handled on a policy level with a lot of insight to current lobbying and problems.
